As part of Hinge's continued commitment to protecting and empowering its community amid a rapidly evolving digital landscape, the company today announces the elevation of its safety leadership. Hinge is proud to share that Jeff Dunn will become the company's first global Chief Risk Officer (CRO) after serving for several years as VP, Trust & Safety.
An established leader at the forefront of Trust & Safety for over ten years, Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge to this role. His previous work at Google, ICANN, and Harvard University has included safety operations, election integrity, and the online protection of children. As an industry advocate, Jeff co-founded the Trust & Safety Network, an effort dedicated to advancing progress in the field, inspiring innovation, and supporting like-minded professionals.
In his new position, Jeff will continue to lead Hinge’s work identifying and mitigating risk across all facets of the user experience and company operations. Hinge believes in a preventative approach to platform integrity, from investing in the newest tools and technologies to ensuring that policies best serve the needs of the community. Jeff has designed and overseen a Trust & Safety strategy that prioritizes user empowerment, helping people navigate their dating journey with more personal control. Under his purview, Hinge has seen the rollout of industry-first safety features such as Comment Filter and the expansion of anti-harassment tools like Are You Sure? to include AI-powered enhancements.
Hinge understands that safety is an integral part of having a positive dating experience, and that people must feel safe in order to create meaningful connections. Adding safety leadership to the C-Suite is an exciting next step in the continued prioritization of fostering user trust as a core part of the company ethos.
